I'm not entirely sure if it's a difficulty difference (I'm on aow difficulty) but I was able to kill a Diabolus with 2KPV turrets armed with standard AP, and 2 volleys from 4 pawns armed MK72-Laws. Edit: I'll also note that all my pawns were behind embrasure's with an open killing field that the Diabolus walked into.
