How much hp can a stock 4l80e handle

Some people can nuke built up trannys with 500hp, others have stock ones holding at 800+. But in the end, it really comes down to the fact that the NV4500 cannot handle much extra power in any gears other than 4th (direct) as the case and countershaft bearings just cannot hold up to the added stress.

How much hp can a stock 4l80e handle. My T5 has lasted very reliably behind about 480 ftlb flywheel torque (412 at wheels) with much full throttle use at the strip. Having said that though some people seem to be very 'hard' on transmissions and can spit a T5 all over the ground behind a stock 302. If you think you're in that catagory then don't use the T5.
